WHO WE ARE

TStat is a small “niche” statistics IT company based in Sulmona in the heart of Abruzzo, created in 1999 as the Italian distributor of the world’s leading econometric, operational research and statistical software. During the past 23 years TStat has proudly represented Aptech Systems, Circle Systems, Lindo Systems, Mackichan Software, StataCorp, S&P Global and more recently Provalis Research in Italy, offering a rapidly evolving client base extensive software, econometric and statistical support. In 2020, TStat was appointed Stata Distributor for the southern eastern Mediterranean region.

During the last two decades, TStat has also evolved to become the market leader in Biostatics, Econometrics and Statistics training in Italy. Today, TStat is an important point of reference for researchers in both the private and public sector, needing to: acquire new analytical skills; study the latest econometrical or statistical developments in their field, or simply refresh their existing analytical “tool-box”. Each year our training portfolio offers academics, biostatisticians, medics, economists, market analysts, researchers and public health sector professionals in both Italy and the European Union, a comprehensive array of training initiatives ranging from one day workshop, intensive online courses, on-site training and residential summer schools.

Since 2016, TStat’s Training Division is also present at the European level, organising a series of both in-house and public attendance courses in Croatia, Germany and Slovenia. In response to the global health pandemic, we swiftly moved our training activities in a virtual online space ensuring that despite the array of travel restrictions imposed our users, researchers still had access to the necessary training opportunities in order to  familiarise themselves with new statistical analysis techniques, keep up to date with recent developments in their field, or simply refresh or further their statistical software capabilities.

OUR MISSION

Data today, is omnipresent and has become an important source of information, not only for people working in research and development, but also for those in marketing, public health, politics, product development, and operational research. Effective data analysis, can however, be problematic for both companies and institutions alike. At TStat therefore, we strive to ensure that our clients are equipped with both the appropriate software and the necessary “skills”/toolkit to ensure they get the most out of their data. Our team of in-house experts work closely with clients to ensure they are provided with the appropriate advice and guidance, ranging from software selection to the provision of tailored, high quality econometric and statistical training courses, to effective data analysis and statistical consultancy.

Good statistical training and consultancy requires not only a strong technical background in statistics, but excellent communication skills, together with business acumen. TStat’s consultancy group excels in all three of these areas, having obtained extensive experience in applying economic and statistical analysis to a wide range of research, commercial and industrial issues. Our in-house expertise in both training and consultancy, is further complemented further, via an extensive network of leading academics and business analysts, many of whom have attained significant experience in both the public and private sector.

TStat’s presence in both of these fields, the organisation of training and refresher courses and the distribution of software, places us in a unique position of being able to offer integrated statistical support to all of our customers.

TRAINING

Over the past 17 years, TStat has evolved to become the market leader in Biostatical, Econometric and Statistical training in Italy. Today, TStat is an important point of reference for researchers in both the private and public sector, needing to: acquire new analytical skills; study the latest econometrical or statistical developments in their field, or simply refresh their existing analytical “tool-box”. Each year our training portfolio offers academics, biostatisticians, medics, economists, market analysts, researchers and public health sector professionals, a comprehensive array of training possibilities.

Our current training portfolio can be classified into three distinct categories:

  • introductory and advanced courses relating to the use of one of the statistical software which TStat distributes;
  • introductory/intermediate courses in biostatistics, epidemiology, econometrics, financial analysis, statistics and qualitative and quantitative text analysis; and
  • advanced “state of the art” courses in each of the aforementioned fields.

Our training initiatives are offered:

  • via our training division TStat Training’s, online virtual classroom portal;
  • through bespoke  on-site training packages; and
  • via traditional public attendance courses scheduled throughout the year in Berlin, Frankfurt, Florence, Milan and Rome.

OUR TRAINING PHILOSOPY

What differentiates TStat’s training courses from those of its competitors?

TStat’s courses are characterized by their theoretical and applied structure. Each course is composed of both a theoretical component (in which the techniques and underlying econometric  biostatistics and statistic principles behind them are explained), and an applied (hands-on) segment, during which participants are given the opportunity to implement these techniques using real data and the latest statistical software under the watchful eye of the course tutor. Throughout the course, theoretical sessions are reinforced by case study examples, in which the course tutor discusses current research issues, highlighting potential pitfalls and the advantages of individual techniques. The intuition behind the choice and implementation of a specific technique is of the utmost importance. In this manner, course leaders are able to bridge the “often difficult” gap between abstract theoretical methodologies, and the practical issues one encounters when dealing with real data.

At the end of the course, participants are expected to be able to autonomously implement the theories and methodologies discussed in the course with the help of the software routines developed specifically for the course.

Should problems arise once delegates return to their workplace, post-training support is however offered. Attendees are also provided with a short- term course license for the software used during the training program to ensure continuity with respect to access to software upon their return to the workplace.

ON-SITE TRAINING

Over recent years we have experienced a significant increase in demand for our on-site training courses. In-house training by its very nature has the advantage that it offers clients:

  • the opportunity to tailor course programs to their own individual needs;
  • the possibility to schedule courses to suit individual workflow or team timetables;
  • the possibility to minimizes both travelling costs and time investment for course participants.

In addition to the courses listed under the Training Course option in the toolbar, TStat offers in-house training in the following fields; biostatistics, cluster analysis; data visualization, epidemiology, forecasting, missing data analysis, multilevel modelling; multivariate data analysis, qualitative and quantitative data/text analysis, analysis of spatial data, survey data; survival analysis, and time series analysis.

Should the individual course programs in our public training portfolio be unsuitable for your requirements, we would of course be delighted to develop a bespoke training program tailored to your own particular needs. Whether it be starting completely from scratch or mix and matching from our existing portfolio, our in-house training experts have extensive experience in both teaching and course development, thus whatever your training requirements, we can develop a training package to meet your individual specifications.

Further information regarding in-house econometric, software and statistical training can be found both on our EU website (www.tstat.eu/in-house-training) and our on dedicated training portal (www.tstattraining.eu).

Our training consultants in either Germany (training@tstat.eu) or Italy (formazione@tstat.it) would also be delighted to hear from you in order to discuss your needs in person.

TSTAT’S TRAINING PARTNERS

TStat’s training partners are selected not only because of the first-class reputation they have attained in their respective fields, but also because of: a) their abilities to relay complex, sometimes abstract technical concepts into a clear, exhaustive manner for both academic and non-academic audiences; and b) their capacity to interact with participants in an animated and interactive manner.
